Hello and welcome to my blog on Sydney transport.
Basically this blog is a form of therapy for me; something to help me feel like I am not just a helpless victim of the transport mess I feel exists in Sydney.
Essentially many of the blog posts here will be me ranting/venting my frustration at some aspect of life in Sydney relating to transport. So don’t be surprised if they do not always present the whole picture.
I may well be wrong about many of the things I say here – of course the majority of it is just my own opinion – but I welcome any comments that challenge my perception of things. Hey if you think transport in Sydney is world-class then say so in the comments (I won’t hold my breath).
Also bare in mind that my opinions are formed from 4 years of life in Sydney, living in the Inner West and commuting by train into the CBD. I fly internationally about once a year, and domestically 1-2 times. I take road trips once or twice a year. I drive my car once every 1-2 weeks. People who live in different parts of the city no doubt have a different take on things. But my gut tells me that the majority of Sydneysiders are very unhappy about the state of transport in Sydney.
My dream is that Sydney one day has a transparent, well managed, visionary, courageous, efficient, motivated transport ecosystem that really delivers a world class service.
Currently I feel it’s none of those and it’s a real shame (not to mention great frustration).
Yours truly,
J
I really understand your frustrations. And blogging about it really helps. I started a similar blog a few weeks before you did. http://everydaytrainblog.com . keep it up.
You spelt “efficient” incorrectly in your second last paragraph and “truly” incorrectly in your valediction.
U gotta keep English sacred y’know?
Thanks, I will fix it now
Hi, nice blog. I’m starting a transport blog for Paris; mind me asking what wordpress template you’re using?
Cheers
oops sorry just nticed it’s at the bottom of your page…
Uncertain if your comments form is working?
Hey there. Shame to see this blog has lapsed! I think especially with how lax public transport in Sydney *still* is… For example this morning (and every other second morning) when the bus I expect to catch doesn’t stop because it’s too full.
If you’re still looking for help and interested in reinvigorating this place then give me an email. I’m a Sydney-based carless blogger and owner of New Zealand’s biggest carpool and ridesharing website Jayride, which has just launched in Australia.
